During our recent travels through London Heathrow Airport, we had the chance to visit the Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 4 while waiting for our Air France flight to Paris. As with many lounges abroad, this lounge offered an experience that felt notably superior to many lounges we’ve visited in the United States.

Upon arriving, we joined the Priority Pass waitlist and were told there would be about an hour-long wait before entry. This is becoming increasingly common in busy international airports, as lounges prioritize entry for business and first-class passengers before opening remaining spots to Priority Pass holders. During our wait, we grabbed a coffee at a nearby café and relaxed until receiving a text notification that space was available for us to enter.
Once inside, the lounge decor was modern, clean, and welcoming. It is what I would describe as a medium-sized lounge, with an open layout, plenty of natural light, and comfortable seating. Plaza Premium consistently delivers a bright and pleasant environment, and this location maintained that standard.
When it comes to food options, Plaza Premium Lounges often excel, and this location was no exception. They offered a full buffet with multiple options to suit different tastes. One highlight for me was the tomato bisque soup, which was one of the better soups I’ve had in any lounge recently. The buffet also included a variety of hot dishes, salads, and desserts, making it a worthwhile stop if you’re looking to enjoy a satisfying meal before your flight.
As for overall impressions, I would rate the Plaza Premium Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 4 a solid 5 or 6 out of 10. While it offers a comfortable place to relax with good food and clean facilities, the long wait times slightly diminish the experience. However, if you have a longer layover and don’t mind waiting, it remains a strong option for Priority Pass users transiting through Terminal 4.
In summary, the Plaza Premium Lounge provides a calm escape from the crowded terminal and delivers a reliable lounge experience that exceeds many domestic lounges in the U.S. If you’re traveling through London Heathrow Terminal 4 and seeking a place to relax, work, or enjoy a decent meal before your next flight, this lounge is worth a visit.
